Be The Change!

I started this as a reply to a comment but I do tend to ramble. Funny thing is we are not keeping this technology a secret; it was all off the shelf. We have almost all of the technical details available online for anyone to see. I agree there should be more Sevens on the road. We even know how

Congratulations SpaceX

I want to congratulate SpaceX on the successful launch of their Falcon 9 rocket, and the orbit of their Dragon module. This is the first successful launch to orbit of a private space vehicle that I know of. Wow I can only imagine all the hard work that has gone into making this happen. http://www.spacex.com Seven has been taken down

Still tinkering

Hello, everyone. It has been over a month since a blog from Illuminati, so here is my take on what is going on.  We are still dedicated to the pursuit of highly efficient transportation. In that vein we are looking toward building our own inverter with a couple interesting features I don’t think anyone else has tried (maybe for good

Going the Distance on Good Ideas

How far can good ideas and commonsense take you; about 200 miles. Last Sunday October 18th, 2010 Kevin drove Seven 199.3 miles on one charge. We used 94 Ah out of our 100Ah pack that equates to 159 watts per mile at 60-65mph, for those who are not electric vehicle people think of it as 216Mpge. We aren’t done yet

Great Job Guys!

We did it. We built a practical 100+ mpg car, that seats 4 adults, carries groceries, tows trailers, and we did it without a major sponsor.   Josh said it best in the XPrize video on our video page. I will echo his words:  “If you have the ability to change the status quo, I believe you have a responsibility to

TW4XP, what a fun little car. Last night we were able to reunite with some of the friends we made through the X-prize. Martin Wolfgang and Bernd invited Illuminati Motor Works to a meeting of electric vehicle enthusiast who were hosting TW4XP in Champaign Illinois. I was treated to a demo ride in TW4XP, and I must say I really

Convert the car you like to drive.

We spent 2.4 billion tax dollars on developing technologies for the electric car. The technology for the electric car is here — it doesn’t need developing it needs implementing. The technology for the electric car has been here since 1900. What we needed is good batteries, but wait they are here now too. I don’t want to be rude or

Looking for work!

I have found a calling; I don’t know how it happened.  I was working a pretty nice job when fate stepped in.  I was going through life day by day then I read the Illinois Times Article “Eyes on the Prize.”   I was curious about this group of guys building an X PRIZE car, and I wanted to help out

Here we go again!

Unless you have a car that was already completed the time between events is a mad dash to fix everything Xprize finds wrong with your car. Seven made it through technical last time, but we knew she could be better. We now have systems that should all work. I say should because I have crimped hundreds of connections, and wore
